For this event, Platform21, a design foundation that aims to positively influence how we interact with surrounding objects, explored the way cars are made -- or rather asked guests to do so. To get things underway, people were given a remote-control Styrofoam cube that they could customise using a range of tools, such saws and casts, along with a number of accessories that could be attached to the cubes. After completing their work, the designers were given a chance to race their cars on a special track set up in the workspace.
