All about Nissan Intelligent Mobility

Driving pleasure

  • Say goodbye to engine noise and appreciate the joys of quieter driving.
  • Thanks to a chassis redesigned by the Nissan R&D team, LEAF offers superior handling.

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE TO DRIVE AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE?

Smooth and practically silent and serene; With the e-pedal It’s a surprisingly relaxing and simple way to drive. Flat and predictable cornering is a natural result of a low centre of gravity.

RANGE

DOES USING THE HEATING SYSTEM AND OTHER EQUIPMENT LIKE THAT REDUCE THE RANGE OF THE VEHICLE?

Using the heating or air-conditioning system has a certain impact on the distance you cover, but you can use an intelligent system that allows you to heat or cool down your Nissan LEAF beforehand, prior to travel, while the battery’s being charged. When you’re connected to your home-charging system or a public charging point, the electricity comes directly from the grid (6.6kW onboard charger), not from your lithium-ion battery, so your autonomy will not be affected.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE AND A THERMIC VEHICLE?

Electric vehicles and vehicles with an internal combustion engine are very similar. Besides the obvious difference regarding propulsion, the main differences lie in the energy needs and maintenance costs of an electric vehicle. Instead of having to go and fill up at a petrol station, an electric vehicle can be recharged at home overnight. Also, they have far less mobile parts than thermic vehicles, which reduces maintenance costs.

ON THE GO

DOES THE NISSAN LEAF USE REGENERATIVE BRAKING TO HELP RECHARGE THE BATTERY?

Yes. Each time you decelerate or brake, the electric engine plays the role of a generator to recover part of the energy that hasn’t been used to recharge the battery.

WHAT IS NISSAN LEAF ECO MODE?

By choosing ECO mode, you can extend your range by up to 10%. It  limits engine output, saves energy and slightly increases regenerative braking which boosts your range as well.
