Takata, who supplied Nissan with airbags for the models listed below, has advised Nissan that these airbags may develop a fault over time.
In the event of an accident, the airbags may inflate with such extreme force that parts of the airbag unit could shatter firing metal fragments into the cabin.
In such circumstance these metal fragments could cause severe injury to you and/or your passengers.
What should you do?
Act now. Don’t delay. If you have not already had your vehicle repaired, please contact Nissan with your VIN number to verify if you vehicle is affected. A list of affected vehicles and production periods is listed below.
Additional information For Nissan NOTE and TIIDA owners only: Nissan has started to contact all affected customers by letter for a free of charge passenger airbag inflator replacement. Nissan aims to send all letters to affected customers within 2018. Please wait until you have received your letter before making an appointment with a dealer to have your airbag replaced.
