Designed by the experts at Nissan, ProPILOT is an advanced driver assistance system created to give you a safer and more enjoyable ride.

ProPILOT is an advanced driver-assistance system, which means that while the technology will monitor, adjust and alert you to your surroundings on the road, this is still very much a ‘hands on, eyes on’ technology, meaning the driver remains in control and responsible for the vehicle at all times. Just like usual, nothing out of the ordinary there, the only difference here being that you and your car-mates are kept safer, connected and confident on your journey.

The advanced driver assist technology helps to maintain the car’s lane position and distance from the vehicle in front with features like Lane Intervention, Intelligent Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist, enhancing the driver’s control by assisting with steering, acceleration and braking.

It has also been optimised for low-speed congestion and high-speed cruising, ideal for city and countryside journeys.

So with all this advanced technology, what makes the Nissan Qashqai the car of choice?

As you probably already know, the Qashqai is the best-selling British-built car, and for good reason.

Designed around smart, affordable luxury, the Qashqai features top-of-the line Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM), luxury interior styling, a high-end sound system to turn up to 11 and exterior styling that rivals the more expensive luxury car models on the market.

With all of these features and more, the next level up is to incorporate some advanced driver technology; enter ProPILOT.

Simple and intuitive to use, ProPILOT is available in automatic Qashqai models only, DCT & CVT transmissions, but even Manual transmission models can get in on some of the action with the Drive Assist Pack, which is available for the same cost as the ProPILOT pack, except for the ability to come to a complete stop and resume driving in traffic.

The drive assist technology works based on traffic and road data supplied by a camera mounted in the Qashqai’s windscreen and a radar behind the Nissan badge in the front grille, giving you immediate and up-close journey data.

Price-wise, you’re probably thinking ‘all this sounds exactly like what I’ve been looking for in my next car, but I bet it costs the earth!’

Happily, you’re wrong! The Nissan Qashqai is as affordable and stylish as ever, even with the added tech options.

For instance, the ProPILOT system in the Qashqai N-Connecta grades is a £595 option.

ProPILOT is a standard feature in both the Tekna and Tekna+ grades, but with the Tekna+ models the driver assistance system is contained within a Sport Option Pack, which also adds front and rear coloured bumpers and a few other premium details (like 19” ’wind design’ alloy wheels!).

This is just the beginning for ProPILOT.

Already available in the Nissan LEAF in the UK market and due to be released with the Nissan X-Trail later in 2019. Contemporary, smart and stylish, this tech upgrade does wonders for the Qashqai, and will do wonders for your driving experience too.
