What is included in my Service?

Regular servicing maintains your vehicles safety, performance, and fuel efficiency. For customers inside the warranty period, servicing according to the service schedule is a necessary condition of maintaining the vehicle warranty.

Which Service do I need, Minor or Major?

A Minor Service should be alternated with a Major Service.

How often you require your service is specific to your model. It’s usually based on an annual service but can come sooner if you are a high mileage driver or if you own an EV or Commercial Vehicle. Please check your vehicle handbook for details on your specific model.

How can I book?

There are many ways to book a service, MOT or repair. The easiest way is to book online here. Alternatively, you can contact your dealer directly. Enter your location on our Dealer Locator and you’ll find the contact details for the closest dealers to you.

How long will my service take?

Most services will take a few hours, but it depends on the service and appointment you select. Choose your preferred available date and time at your local dealership via our Online Booking Tool.

Many dealers also offer a secure key drop locker for a speedy check in on the day, but you may wish to wait for your vehicle a grab a coffee on us.

I am still under manufacturer warranty. Do I still need a service?

Yes. It is a condition of your manufacturer warranty that your car must be serviced every year or at the recommended mileage intervals. Please check your vehicle handbook for details on your specific model.

How Often Do I Need an MOT?

An MOT is required on the third anniversary of your vehicle's registration and then every 12 months following its last MOT.

An MOT tests a range of important parts on your vehicle to make sure they meet the legal standards. This includes a range of car parts, including the brakes, fuel system, exhaust, seatbelts, wipers, mirrors and lights. The exhaust emissions are also tested on applicable vehicles.

Do Electric Vehicles still need a service and MOT?

Yes, an electric vehicle needs an MOT once they reach 3 years old, just like any other car to ensure it is safe enough to drive. Many components of an electric vehicle’s MOT will be the same as a standard MOT, but elements such as the emissions test will of course be unnecessary.

Will you complete software updates as standard?

As part of Nissan’s Customer Service Promise, be assured that every time you bring your Nissan in for a service, your vehicle software will be refreshed with the latest standard updates free of charge. Any chargeable updates, which includes Sat Nav updates, will be highlighted by your dealer prior to any updates been carried out.

Can I book a service and MOT together?

Yes! Book both online at your nearest Nissan Dealership or Authorised Repairer, and you can get your service and MOT sorted at the same time.

Do you check the battery health during a service?

Yes. Maintaining the long-term health of your battery is our priority. During your service, we can run diagnostics on your Battery Management System to ensure it is performing optimally, helping to protect the longevity and range of your electric vehicle.

Will my EV get software updates during a service?

Absolutely. Unlike some independent garages, official Nissan servicing provides access to the latest proprietary software. We update your onboard computers and battery management systems as standard, ensuring your EV runs with the latest efficiency and features available from the factory.

Do EVs still need an MOT?

Yes, an electric vehicle requires an MOT once it reaches 3 years old, just like a petrol or diesel car. While we don't need to test emissions, we rigorously check safety-critical components like brakes, suspension, lights, and tyres to ensure your EV is safe for the road.

Will my dealer remind me when a service is due?
