KEEP YOUR TYRES IN TOP CONDITION WITH OUR 3 STEP GUIDE
1. Check your tread depth
The current legal limit is 1.6mm tread over the central ¾ of the tyre in a continuous band around the entire circumference of the tyre. The current maximum fine is £2,500 and 3 points per offence. RoSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) recommends that tyres are changed once the tread reaches 3mm in depth.
2. CORRECT TYRE PRESSURE
The correct tyre pressure maximises grip and tyre life, whilst minimising emissions and increasing fuel efficiency.
3. POSITION AND HANDLING
When replacing tyres, the ideal situation would be to replace all four together. As front and rear tyres wear at different rates, this is not always practical, therefore we recommend that new tyres are fitted to the rear (where possible) and the older tyres are moved to the front
