4.8.1.8. Battery save function
The battery save feature prevents your vehicle from discharging the battery after you have left the external lights, map lights or room lights on when exiting the vehicle. This occurs when the ignition is switched to OFF after the engine has been running.
Battery save function for external lights
When the headlight switch is in the

position while the power switch is in the ON position, the lights will automatically turn off within a period of time after the ignition switch has been placed in the OFF position. When the headlight switch remains in the
position after the lights automatically turn off, the lights will turn on when the ignition switch is placed in the ON position.
When you turn on the headlight switch again after the lights automatically turn off, the lights will not turn off automatically. Be sure to turn the headlight switch to the AUTO position when you leave the vehicle for extended periods of time, otherwise the 12–volt battery will be discharged.
Never leave the headlight switch on when the engine is not running for extended periods of time even if the headlights turn off automatically.
Battery save function for interior light
The interior light will automatically be switched off after a period of time if it has been accidentally left on.
