8.9.2. Recommendations for towing two-wheel drive (2wd) models

If for safety reasons the vehicle must be moved off the road on its own wheels, towing is permitted only for a maximum distance of 100m (330 ft) and at a maximum speed of 20 km/h (12 MPH).

You must shift the transmision to N (Neutral).

Failure to comply with these limits may result in damage to the vehicle.

Long distance towing with a tow truck is prohibited if the four wheels are on the ground.

NISSAN recommends that your vehicle should be towed with the driving (front) wheels off the ground or that the vehicle be placed on a flat bed lorry as illustrated.

When towing with the front wheels – on the ground (MT models only) or – on towing dollies:

Place the ignition in the OFF position, then secure the steering wheel in a straight ahead position using a rope or similar device. Never place the ignition in the LOCK position. This will result in damage to the steering lock mechanism.
